Profile

My name is Monica Udrea and I am a specialised Architect and qualified BIM Manager. I am providing cost effective solutions for my clients, using new technologies such as 3D laser scanning and the Building Information Method.

I believe in the power of architecture - especially in existing buildings. As an architect in Hamburg, I love breathing new life into old structures: through energy-efficient renovations, conversions, and smart extensions.

With my office, I combine classical design work with digital tools such as BIM and 3D scans to create precise, sustainable, and customized solutions. Every project is a new story for me - and I accompany it with heart, insight, and a clear vision from start to finish.

The EXPO-site in Hannover was used for the World Exhibition in 2000. Twelve years later, part of the site is abandoned. The task is to develop urban planning strategies and scenarios for the transformation and further development. The vacant pavilions are activated through temporary uses.

A fallow building on the outskirts of a small spa town needs to be revitalized. In addition to its quality of living, the building was to be designed flexibly so that it could also be converted into an office/administration building in the future.

A modern building mediates between the medieval building parts of the former local museum, whose folded envelope is derived from the openings of the two adjacent existing buildings.
