Urban Planning Study, Post Event City
The EXPO-site in Hannover was used for the World Exhibition in 2000. Twelve years later, part of the site is abandoned, while the EXPO pavilions, streets, green spaces, technical infrastructure, and the railway station remain and are costly maintained but barely utilized.

Urban Study |
The task is to develop urban planning strategies and scenarios for the transformation and further development of the former EXPO-site.
By analysing the existing stakeholders at various levels, starting points were generated to bring new potential users to the site. These form different usage clusters that correspond to different catchment areas.
The pavilion area provides space for new activities that do not require initial investment. The vacant pavilions are activated through temporary uses, and in the southern part of the site, a fruit garden is made available to the citizens of Hannover. Over time, these new uses should also generate revenue so that new developments can be realized at higher levels, such as extending the tram line to the neighbouring city.
